There is nationwide prayer going on for Israel and the Jewish people right now. It is called the Isaiah 62 Fast. It is 21 days of 24/7 prayer that was initially calling for 1 million people to pray, currently over 5 million people are praying. By the time this is done they are expecting over 100 million people to be in prayer for Israel and the Jewish people.
This Isaiah 62 Fast was a call issued by a man, but clearly no man could bring over 5 million people together in just 2 months. I believe God is behind this and I believe God wants us involved.
I’ve heard it said that we should pray for Israel. So I prayed for Israel half-heartedly, whenever I thought of it. Did you know that the Jewish people are the apple of God’s eye? God desires for them to choose Him. Romans 11:11 says “Again I ask, Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.” There is power in prayer.
Have you ever been in a love relationship and had the means to give the person you love something they desire: but yet withheld that something and not give it to them? I’m sure you have a love relationship with God. Would you not want God to have that which He desires? If you are fully capable of praying for the Jewish people to know Jesus, and you know there is power in prayer, would you withhold that prayer from God?
I ask that you consider joining the Isaiah 62 Fast. We will have prayer here in the church now through May 28th from 7:00 to 8:00 pm each night. It would involve you showing up and being in prayer. You can pray silently, you can pray out loud, you can read scriptures, or you can just be here for support.
Again, it is because God wants the Jewish people. They are His heart. I want God to have His desire and plan for Israel to happen. If prayer for Israel and the Jewish people help God get His desire, then I say, here am I – send me.
