Galatians 6:7-10 NIV Have you ever had one of those days when you didn’t have enough time to get your “to-do list” done? We don’t like to admit it as often as we should but we all have days like this. Recently, I was on my way into the office to finish this newsletter. While I was reflecting on the day and all I needed to get done I rolled through a stop sign. Wouldn’t you know it, a cop was sitting right there waiting for me. Instantly, there was the sinking feeling of God’s Word coming to life (Gal. 7), “ Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” (NIV) As a few onlookers drove by I rolled my window down and handed over my paperwork because I knew what was coming. Following his proper procedure the officer prompted the question, “Do you know why I pulled you over?” He didn’t need to elaborate, I knew I broke the law. After a stern warning, I thanked him for pulling me over and doing his job. I drove away thinking, what would have happened if I didn’t get pulled over? Would I have been convicted of breaking the law? My guess is that I wouldn’t have taken it so hard or given it a second thought. After all, I had a big “to-do list” calling my name. All of us can be deceived into thinking matters such as rolling through a stop sign are not a big deal. However, when we justify something small, it never ends small in the effect of our lives. The same is true with sin in our lives. Listen to Galatians 6:8-10; 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. As we begin a new year we should ask ourselves how we are living out Galatians 6:7-10. Here are some questions we might ask ourselves; Have we accepted the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection? Are we living in step with the Holy Spirit? Are we repentant of our sin? What are we sowing? Do we expect to see the results of Godly sowing? Are we truly living and loving God with all of our heart, mind, soul, and strength? Are we truly loving thy neighbor as ourselves? If not to the above questions, why not? How can your Church help you in your faith walk? Our prayer is that you wouldn’t roll through the stop signs of faith. That you would accept and acknowledge Jesus Christ as your savior and do all you can to sow the goodness of God’s Kingdom here on earth.

God Bless, Pastor Andrew
